Plan a War of 1812--Star-Spangled Banner Trail Tour

Schedule a PROGRAM and WAR OF 1812 --STAR-SPANGLED BANNER TRAIL TOUR

 

Students experience history firsthand when they visit historical  homes and  Washington, D.C.’s only Battle of Bladensburg battleground.

 

Programs are designed to enrich curriculum and are available for all elementary, middle, high school and college levels.  We also offer a special enriched guide for tourist at a low price of $10.00 per guide. SmartPhones tours are also available for each War of 1812 tour in Washington, D.C.  Tours are priced separately and/or as a day tour.

 

Scheduling

 

Call (202) 508-1460 weekdays from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.

 

Teachers, bus drivers and one adult chaperone per fifteen students  tours are free.

Each additional adult chaperone pays $6.00.

Facilities and Features

 

East Potomac Park and the Anacostia Park are  available for picnics.  Groups must notify the Commission within 20 days prior to arrivals in order for the Commission to provide groups information regarding  group permits.

 

·         Online Gift Shop (grouporder forms available).

·         Special tours for sight and hearing impaired visitors (some tours may vary).

·         Online program materials upon request (limited access for nonmembers)

 

Supplementary materials to teachers for tour and program preparation (limited access for nonmembers)

 

Please note: The  War of 1812 Classroom accomodates up to 30 students (Field School up to 90 students). Larger groups at the same time on the same date must use the program and tour package ($5 per student) for a “flip-flop,” in which half of the group tours while the other half has a program. A package visit lasts up to two and a half hours.  All classrooms must be scheduled 60 days prior to arrival.
